ABOUT ME.

I'M PAULA!
I was born and raised in Mexico City and moved to the United States over 10 years ago. My path began in the performing arts as an actor where I learned how emotion, timing, and storytelling shape human connection. I have experience in education where I collaborate with teachers to create comfortable environments for children. I am excited to get started on my journey as a UX designer.
Theatre x UX Design
Along the way, I trained in Classical Acting in the UK and worked in most aspects of theatre and film, including performance, design, and the technical (aka. construction, electrics, stage management, etc). I’ve designed experiences for live audiences where empathy, adaptability, and creativity are essential to overcome obstacles quickly and efficiently.
Much like design, the performing arts are made up of many different parts–each unique and important in their own ways. In collaborating with production teams, I’ve learned to study every aspect of a project form its pre-production to its final stage so I can better understand my role and communicate with others.

EDUCATION
2025
Post Grad. Program in UX Design
University of Texas - Austin
Online intensive course that introduced UX and UI design principles and their relation to its business aspect. I worked on various solo projects and learned how to use Figma. By the end, I completed a Capstone project with a group from my cohort that covered everything from UX research to presenting a high-fidelity wireframe of our product.
2023
Classical Acting
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts
Semester program in London that focused on advanced acting techniques and material from the classical canon. LAMDA teaches with the ensemble method, which strengthens skills in communication, empathy, group work, critical thinking, compromise, and creativity.
2023
Bachelor of Arts - Drama
University of California - Irvine
Finished my BA degree (transferred with an Associate's Degree in Theatre Arts). Worked on various academic, performance, and technical theatre projects, including lights, costumes, design, stage management, and construction. Acquired skills in adaptability, time and stress management, problem-solving, and efficient working.
Small moments → Thoughtful craft
I love everything there is about art! Between projects, I’m usually sewing or up-cycling clothes, sketching, going to concerts, watching films, photography, and anything new I can try. I strive to observe how people move, feel, and connect.
